Biography

This stunning Victoria's Secret Angel was born on June 12, 1982 in Salvador, Brazil. She grew up a devout Catholic. She was discovered at the young age of thirteen at a Brazilian shopping mall. She later entered the Ford Modeling Agency's Supermodel of Brazil Contest and won, she placed second in the Ford Supermodel of the World contest. At age sixteen she signed a modeling contract with the prestigious Elite Agency and moved to New York City to pursue her career.

She started as a cover girl for some of the most famous glamour magazines in the world, including Italian Vogue, Elle and Harper's Bazaar. At five foot eleven she was perfect for the runway and was employed as a catwalk fashion model for Valentino, Christian Lacroix and many other designers. She was the 2000 GUESS? Girl and also did print work for big names such as Maybelline, BeBe and BCBG. She has had some TV coverage including a profile on E!, The Travel Channel, and Extra. She was also in the car maker BMW's short film The Follow.

In her personal life she had dated several American icons including baseball star Derek Jeter, and rocker/musician Lenny Kravitz. She was engaged to Lenny Kravitz for a short time, but the relationship ended in 2003. She has said that she is looking for a man with a heart and that she is not interested in money, fame or fortune, but rather a man who is kind and good hearted.

Lima is very involved with charity work and has donated both money and time to helping orphaned children in Brazil.
